Gordon “Relieved” After Suspension

By Tom Farmer

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has ran into a few problems since he was drafted by the team in the supplemental draft back in 2012. 3 suspensions in 3 years is never anything you would like to put on your resume. Putting all of that aside, he’s shown in the few games that he has gotten to play that he is a force to be reckoned with. In his 2013 season, after missing the first two games of the season, Gordon put up Pro Bowl numbers. 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and 9 touchdowns. His speed and ability to separate from the defender is what drew the Browns to him.

Johnny Manziel recently spoke to the media stating that Gordon could “thrive” with the Browns and with himself behind center.  That is still a big unknown due to the face that we are still seeing the early stages of Johnny and need these last 3 games to see what he can do against some of the leagues better defenses in Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Seattle. Johnny, like Gordon, has had a history with addiction himself as well so its not as if Josh is the only one proving to the team that he can be addiction free.

When asked about his latest suspension that banned him from the team for the entire 2015 season, Josh gave more of a surprising answer.

“After the suspension was announced, in a sense, I was kind of relieved. I was distraught  and embarrassed, but I was like, man, I’ve been ripping and running too much, too fast. I needed to slow down. I’m glad that someone gave me a swift kick in the ass to let me know what’s real and what’s not.”

That was from a video from PROATHLETE TV where Gordon talked about his new artwork. The full video can be viewed below.
