Is DC moving too fast?

By Tom Farmer

Not so long ago, the first full length trailer for DC‘s Batman Vs Superman came out and, as predicted, the feedback has been mixed across the internet. I’ve watched it a few times now and I am very skeptical but maybe not for similar reasons as everyone else.

The first thing that struck me was the introduction of Jesse Eisneberg was an odd choice only because every movie I have ever seen Eisenberg in, he’s the shy nerd that has trouble talking to girls. Not a billionaire mad man. So the first time I heard his voice in the trailer, I cringed. Nothing about him at all screams Lex Luthor to me. Ben Affleck I feel will be a very good Bruce Wayne. Batman? Not so much. Seeing him in the suit and hearing his “Batman voice” for the first time was just.. not Batman. He doesn’t have the bad Christian Bale voice but it still seemed too forced. It does look like the Joker might make a cameo when Bruce looks at his displayed Robin outfit that belonged to Jason Todd more than likely and it says “Hahaha! Joke’s on you, Batman” written on the chest of it. With the introduction of Wonder Woman, Doomsday and rumblings of Aquaman and Flash, I feel that DC is trying too hard and moving too fast to try and catch up with the Marvel Universe. Take your time, DC. Let more stories in before you bring in everyone into one movie. And WHY put Doomsday in soooooo early when that could’ve been a trilogy itself. I am still hopeful the movie will be entertaining and worth seeing in theaters but early clips of the film have me cringing.
