Lake Erie Monsters win 2-1 in 2OT. Advance to Calder Cup.


The Lake Erie Monsters advance to the AHL Calder Cup for the first time in Monsters history with a 2-1 victory over the Ontario Reign in double overtime.

Lukas Sedlak was the lone scorer today. One goal in the first period (6:26) and the last in the second overtime (6:25). Only goal by the Reign was Joel Lowry in the third period (2:44)

The Monsters get a well deserved rest before their matchup with the winner of the Toronto and Hershey series. The Q packed in over 10,000 fans to watch the historic win.
